问题描述

【问题描述】

DP备份成功但DP会有告警提示:There is no more space for Detail Catalog Binary Files.

过程分析

【问题分析及处理】

DP软件上的There is no more space for Detail Catalog Binary Files告警是DPDCBF文件空间不足的告警提示。

DCBF=Detail Catalog Binary Files,该文件是DP软件下的一部分,存放要备份的数据及一些管理数据,如果空间不足就会收到该告警信息与Storeonce没有必然联系,下面是公网上的一些说明和文章请参考:

The DCBF files are stored in directories under /var/opt/omni/server/db80/dcbf/ (well, at least that is the default location on Linux for DP 9.0). In a nutshell:

they contain what you backed up. If you happen to be on Linux, you might want to explore those files a bit with a blunt tool like 'strings'.

The total size of the DCBF files depend on:

* How many files you backed up.

* Your logging level (none, files only, dirs only, all). (Gui->Backup->Backup Specifications->Filesystem->pick one->tab Backup Object Summary->

pick a client->Properties->tab Other->Logging: No Log, Log All, Log Directories, Log Files)

* Your retention. (Catalog protection)

So, if you are running out of diskspace, you can tweak the above three ways. But there is another option, which most people should do: just grow your storage.

If Data Protector needs the space because of your requirements (log all, retention) and environment (fileservers with millions of files) then let Data Protector have the space it needs.
