INPUT
runts: Super short frames, namely the frames received by the port is less than 64 bytes and without CRC checksum error.
giants: Super long frames, namely the frames received by the port exceeds the maximum limit and without CRC checksum error.
throttles: Incomplete frames, namely the frames received by the port is not of whole bytes, but with 1 to 7 bits more. As a result, it is either in disorder, or empty and with CRC checksum errors that are not counted as CRC error.
CRC: Checksum error, namely the CRC checksum error of the frames received by the port.
frame: error frames, namely the frames with unknown errors received by the port.
overruns: overrun frames. It appears because the inbound rate exceeds the disposal capability of the receiver, so that the network is jammed and some packets are dropped.
aborts: input descriptor error. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
ignored: frames dropped. It appears because the inbound rate exceeds the disposal capability of the receiver, so that the network is jammed and some packets are dropped.
parity errors: parity check error. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
OUTPUT
underruns: frame underrun error. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
buffer failures: buffer failure frames. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
aborts: frames dropped. It appears when the network is jammed and the packets cannot be forwarded through the MAC layer.
deferred: frames deferred. In half-duplex mode, when the first 64 bytes of the Ethernet data enters the cable, a collision is detected and the packet is deferred to forward.
collisions: frames colliding. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
late collisions: delay collision frame. The frame is buffered in the MAC layer and delayed to forward.
lost carrier: delay forward frames. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
no carrier: carrier lost frames. S9500 switches do not have such error frames.
Output error is scarce before. Most problems are input errors and the users need explanations. If S9500 receives error frames such as runts, giants, throttles, CRC and frame, check whether the peer or the transmission link is all right; if S9500 receives error frames such as overruns and ignored, check whether the bandwidth is sufficient.
