Method to Upgrade VRP in CLI TFTP Mode on AR28、AR46 Series Routers

[Operation procedure]

Step 1: Enable the tftp software and set the directory where the version file is located.

 

 

Step 2: Configure the router and ping through the TFTP Server from the router.

[Quidway]	interface Ethernet 0/0
[Quidway-Ethernet0/0]	ip address 1.1.1.1 8	Configure the interface address

 

Step 3: Execute the tftp get command on the router to download the version.

The process is shown as follows:

<Quidway>tftp 1.1.1.2 get AR28-VRP340-R0006-907-128-a.bin 340-0006.bin

       /******server IP                 source file name             destination file name******/

  File will be transferred in binary mode.

  Downloading file from remote tftp server, please wait...................................................................................................................................

.....................................................................................................................................

  TFTP:  8695261 bytes received in 260 second(s).

  File downloaded successfully.

 

Meanwhile, you can view the transmission from the TFTP Server. (There is no progress prompt in old version of TFTP Server.)

  

 

Step 4: Set the version for the next boot and restart the system.

View files in Flash and confirm the version is correctly uploaded.

Set the version for the next boot.

[Quidway]boot main 340-0006.bin

Set main boot file successfully!

 

Restart the system.

<Quidway>reboot

 This command will reboot the system. Since the current configuration may have changed, all changes may be lost if you continue. Continue? [Y/N] y

 

[Verification]

View the version upon the restart and confirm the version is upgraded successfully.
