FIC-FXS/FXO Modules of H3C Series Routers

I.         Introduction

FIC-2FXS/FIC-4FXS is the short of 2/4-port voice user circuit interface modules, which is primarily designed to provide the access and process of 2/4-way common analog telephone, Fax or telephone exchange AT0 loop relay, and enable the transmission of voice signals on data communication network; FIC-2FXO/FIC-4FXO is the short of 2/4-port voice AT0 analog relay link process unit, which is primarily designed to provide the access and process of 2/4-way common analog telephone, Fax or telephone exchange AT0 loop relay, and enable the transmission of voice signals on data communication network

Note:

When connecting FIC-2FXS/FIC-2FXO and FIC-4FXS/FIC-4FXO modules, make sure that AR 46 series router can connect to IP network or other WANs.

III.   Module Interface Cable

The foreign interface of FIC-2FXS/FIC-2FXO and FIC-4FXS/FIC-4FXO is standards-based RJ45 interface.

FIC-2FXS/FIC-2FXO and FIC-4FXS/FIC-4FXO cable is a line with magnetic ring, and both ends use RJ11 connector.

&  Note:

l      To ensure the consistency of link process unit socket, the RJ 45 socket of FXO/FXS is compatible with RJ11 plug, which does not affect the real usage.

l      The standard configuration of FIC-2FXS/FIC-2FXO and FIC-4FXS/FIC-4FXO modules includes interface cables.

Connection of interface cables

Note:

l      When laying the interface cable of FIC-2FXS/FIC-2FXO and FIC-4FXS/FIC-4FXO modules outside, to achieve better lightning effect, user should deploy special lightning arrester in the input terminal of cable.

l      Please identify the marks on the interface when connection so that wrong insertion can be avoided to cause link process unit or router host damage.

l      To ensure the magnetic compatibility of the overall router, user should connectes the side of line with magnetic ring to the router.

Step 1: Insert the side of cable with magnetic ring in a RJ45 interface of FIC-FXS/FIC-FXO;

Step 2: Connect the other side of cable to the following devices:

If FIC-FXS module is selected, connect the cable to telephone, fax or telephone exchange AT0 loop relay interface.

If FIC-FXO module is selected, connect the cable to the common line of telephone exchange.
