Q: What voice interfaces are available on the mid-range router at present?
A: At present, there are four types of voice interfaces provided by the mid-range router:
Foreign eXchange Station (FXS): also called the POTS interface. The other end of the cable is connected to a common analog phone set.
Foreign eXchange Office (FXO): 2-wire loop trunk. The other end of the cable is connected to the subscriber line (that is, external line) of switch.
E&M: E&M trunk interface. The other end of the cable is connected to the E&M trunk of switch.
E1VI: The E1VI module is to process dense signals in the VoIP system. It completes VoIP on the E1 line, thus implementing voice transmission compatible with data transmission. The E1VI module adopts the mother board + pinch board structure, and provides one E1 interface for users to process 30-channel voice signals.
The external interface of FXS/FXO/E&M module uses the standard RJ-45 interface.
The connection cable of FXS/FXO uses the standard analog telephone cable, and connectors at both ends use RJ-11 crystal heads. The connection cable of the E&M module shall be selected according to the type of connected switch.
The interface cable of the E1VI module uses the 120-ohm cable conforming to G.703 standards. It uses the DB-15 connector at the switch end, and the RJ-45 connector at the network end.
