The difference of using RSA and Password method authentication in SSH
Q: What’s the difference of using RSA and Password authentication in SSH?
A:
RSA authentication doesn’t need configure local-user, but need configure ssh user and specify logon client’s public key. And client can log on the device only input username. Thus, if you want to use RSA authentication, client must has the device configuration privilege in User-interface vty 0 4 to configure user privilege. If you use Password authentication, don’t need configure under user-interface vty 0 4, but need to configure Local-user and level in local-user. And Password authentication also needs to configure ssh user.
